“See, I am doing a new thing!”| The Sunday Sabbath #4
A Brief Pause for a New Season
Dear friend,
You know that feeling when God whispers something so clearly to your heart that you can’t ignore it? That’s been my experience lately as I’ve been praying about the direction of Salty Page Books.
Isaiah 43:19 has been showing up everywhere in my life: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
And what I’m perceiving with increasing clarity is that God is calling me to focus more intentionally on serving female Christian writers and creatives - women just like me who are navigating the beautiful, messy intersection of faith, creativity, and womanhood.
While I’ve always written from this perspective (hello, it’s my lived experience!), I want to be more purposeful about creating a space specifically designed for women called to create. A place where the unique challenges, questions, and rhythms of our creative lives as women are addressed with both biblical wisdom and practical solutions.
What This Means: A Brief Pause
To make room for this new thing God is doing, I’ll be taking a short pause from regular content (about 3-4 weeks) to:
Reimagine our shared space to better serve female Christian writers and creatives
Create a more sustainable rhythm (moving from three posts weekly to one deeply valuable post each week, plus The Sunday Sabbath)
Develop frameworks specifically addressing how our unique design as women shapes our creative calling
Prepare something special I’ve been quietly building behind the scenes (more on this below!)
This isn’t about doing less - it’s about creating something more focused, more sustainable, and more aligned with how God is leading. It’s about making those streams in the wasteland that Isaiah talks about - life-giving resources that truly serve your journey as a female creative.
Coming Soon: The Sisterhood
One thing I’m particularly excited about is a new community I’m creating called “Soft Sacred Slow” (affectionately known as “The Sisterhood”). This will be a special space where we can journey together more intimately, sharing the behind-the-scenes of integrating our creative businesses with soft, sacred, slow living as Christian women.
More details to come when I return, but I wanted to give you a little glimpse of what’s sprouting up in this new season!
I’d Love to Hear From You!
During this pause, I’d love to know more about YOU and how I can better serve your journey:
What challenges do you face specifically as a female Christian writer or creative?
How do you navigate balancing creative work with your other responsibilities and callings?
What would help you embrace more restful, sacred rhythms in your creative life?
What would you love to see in this reimagined space?
Just hit reply - I read every message personally and would be so grateful for your thoughts as I shape this vision.
I expect to be back with fresh content in about 3-4 weeks. Thank you for your grace during this brief pause. I truly believe God is making a way in the wilderness for all of us who feel called to create, and I’m excited to walk that path alongside you.
While the newsletter will be paused, I’ll still be active on Substack - posting notes and engaging with your content. Feel free to connect with me there during this transition time!
With gratitude and expectation,
Antonisha
Before I Go... Some Exciting Book News!
Speaking of God doing a new thing... I’m thrilled to share my own new beginning!
My first fiction book—a cozy Christmas romance called Blue Stone Christmas—releases everywhere in just ONE WEEK on October 25th! 🎄

This story is a love letter to everyone who’s ever felt torn between the life they’ve built and the life they’re meant to live.
It’s about Gabrielle, a high-powered NYC marketing executive who gets snowed in with her ex-boyfriend Jonas in a small North Carolina mountain town, and all the Christmas magic (and second-chance awkwardness) that ensues. But more than that, it’s about trusting that sometimes the path home takes us through unexpected detours, and that God’s design for our lives is always better than our carefully crafted plans.
The story explores themes close to my heart: second chances, choosing authentic community over impressive careers, and finding home in the people who see us fully. If you love clean romance with heart, Christmas books that make you believe in grace, or stories about multi-passionate women figuring out what they really want, this might be your new favorite cozy read.
Signed copies are still available for pre-order now, and I’ll be sending a special release day email next Saturday with all the details about where to grab your copy.
This new creative path is another example of seeing God make “a way in the wilderness” - taking me into fiction writing after years of dreaming about it. Like Isaiah 43:19 says, sometimes we have to perceive the new thing that’s springing up in our lives!
I’d love to hear what you think when you read it!
